Dr. Previnaire is appointed the ISCoS Prevention Committee Chair
Dr. JG Previnaire of Berck-sur-Mer France has been a member of ISCoS since 1994, and has taken an active role in the Society, notably through the Editorial Board of “Spinal Cord” and the Scientific Committee. He is currently head of a large Spinal Unit in Berck, North of France that proposes comprehensive management of SCI. Among other things, he has set up an annual 2-week training programme in the management of spinal cord injury patients for health professionals in France, and was involved in a 3 year teaching and educational programme for neurological rehabilitation in China. As the newly appointed chair of the Prevention Committee, he intends to continue the ongoing work in the area of primary prevention, in particular the Asian Spinal Cord Network Pilot Project and the World SCI Day, but also aims to develop subcommittees for secondary prevention, to liaise with existing organizations to organize workshop and symposiums during ISCoS meetings. He will soon appeal to all ISCoS members who feel concerned and are willing to invest some of their time and energy to boost prevention throughout the world by joining the committee.
